Dear Sister Gauri,
Your letter dated 7th September 1 was received and read out to Beloved Baba.
Baba wants you to return to dear Amiya 2 the moment you receive this letter and maintain a loving atmosphere at home. Matajee and Amiya had been here to meet Baba. Baba has ordered Matajee to live in Calcutta for six months for some work. Therefore, Matajee will remain in Calcutta in accordance with Baba's will.
Baba wants you to treat Matajee lovingly and send her news of His dear Mehernandini as well as the events at home from time to time. Matajee will return to Jabalpur after six months and thereafter both of you should live lovingly like mother and daughter.
If you obey this order of Baba in the best possible manner, Baba will be pleased with you.
Baba sends His love to you, Amiya, Matajee and Bhattacharjee's3 family and His love-filled kiss to Mehernandini.

1. There must have been a quarrel, and she must have left home and must have gone home to her mother.
2. Amiya giggles that Baba supported him in this instance (but not in all instances -- see other letters for other examples).
3. That family was then living at Amiya's quarters in Jabalpur. Gauri had a problem getting along with Mrs. (Pratima) Bhattacharjee that has been discussed in other letters.
