Gilbert Guglielmo

Amiya met Gilbert Guglielmo at a Baba mela in Dehra Dun. He was a disciple of Shivananda, and had been in the Himalayas (Rishikesh) at the Shivananda ashram. He was French. Gilbert came to Jabalpur and spent a few days with Amiya and Gauri at Bai Ka Bagicha (their home). He was quite austere, sleeping on the floor, taking limited vegetarian diet, and so forth. The Hazras were impressed. Amiya suggested that he would try to see if Baba would permit darshan at Poona for him. He was quite overjoyed, and began weeping. When the letter came that Baba was not permitting darshan at the time, Gilbert was quite depressed and left India, and the Hazras never heard from him again
