Meherazad 2nd October 1966 Dear Amiya, Your letter of 29th September was received here and was read out to Beloved Baba. Baba wants you to see that very good treatment is given to Gauri1, and you should not feel nervous, should not worry at all, and remain courageous. Baba's nazar is on her. Which disease is diagnosed by the doctors? Has her blood been examined2? If this has not been done, then you ask the doctor if he thinks it is necessary to do so, and go for an investigation of her blood. Baba is pleased with you, and sends you His love, sends His love to Matajee, to Gauri and to Mehernandini and Meher Kumar His love-filled kiss. Jai Baba Yours affectionately, Bhau 1. Amiya: "She was very much ill." 2. Amiya: "I'll tell you the whole thing. She had not been able to get rid of the fever that was coming to her and we all thought that it was typhoid. Soon after this letter came, we went to one doctor Tomar, and blood reports were not of much avail, I don't know if we went for it at all, but suddenly, you see, mosquitoes were biting me, and I said that there is a crowd of mosquitoes. He looked at me and remarked, 'Yes, that reminds me, did you check her blood, did you go for a malarial investigation?' I said, 'No.' 'Did you give her chloroquine?' 'No.' 'So you went for typhoid all the way?' 'Yes' 'Why don't you give her 6 chloroquine tabs?' And he gave me a prescription. We went for it and within the span of 36 hours the fever was gone. She was so weak by that time, at the end of two months. We were on the wrong track." |
