Meherazad 12th March 1966 Dear Amiya, Your letter of 9th March was received and read out to Beloved Baba and He felt happy to hear it. Last year during the birthday celebrations Jabalpur had a continuous series of big programmes and there was a lot of enthusiasm in every Baba lover's heart. But this year in spite of the springtime, the birds remained seated in their nests and their songs could not be audible. If the birds had made all the joyful chirping that was expected of them, and if they had sung all those sweet songs that they generally used to sing, then there would not have been any place for disappointment. From the spiritual point of view, Jabalpur holds a very important and significant place in Baba's love because Baba had opened His mast ashram in Jabalpur. That makes the importance of this place still more and from that point of view we have to pay it more and still more attention so that this centre should not only spread the songs of Baba's love in Jabalpur itself, but should take upon its shoulders the entire responsibility of Madhya Pradesh, and slowly make other places also move towards Baba. Shri Girija Nandan Dubey and Rajani Kant Upadhyaya had been to other places and that was good on their part to do. They filled the people in those places with inspiration, and the programmes that took place there were all very successful. You all are Baba's strong pillars, and each one of you has some special quality. That's why we expect more and still more from the lovers who live in Jabalpur. And, this expectation draws you all so near to Baba. Before I received your letter, I had already sent a telegram to you, and on receiving that telegram you might have felt sad. But now you do not think anything about it and give all your cooperation to see that the celebration on 20th March becomes successful and a large-scale undertaking. We hope all the birds of Jabalpur will, with their sweet songs, wake up the city, and Jabalpur will see the divine dawn and witness the sun rising before which they will all bend down their heads. Baba is immensely pleased with you, and sends His love to you, to Matajee, to Gauri and His love-filled kiss to Mehernandini. Jai Baba Affectionately yours, Bhau |
