3rd November 1964 Dear Amiya, Your letter of 30th October was received by us and it was read out to Beloved Baba. Shri Ramanujji Varma has received Baba's love and blessings, and this is his good fortune. He has without any doubt to give up his body now. It would be nice that he does so while taking Baba's name. We have already made him aware of this, but it appears that he has not seriously understood this order of Baba. Baba permits Dandi Swamijee to do a Bengali translation of the Everything and the Nothing. And Baba gives him His love. Baba wants you to go to a doctor and get Mehernandini treated by him1 and not to worry about anything. Baba's nazar is on Mehernandini. Baba is pleased with you and Gauri and He sends His love-filled kiss to Mehernandini. Jai Baba Affectionately yours, Bhau 1. Amiya: "Mehernandini's health was very bad during this period. She was just one year old, born in 1963, and she was almost on the point of death one day, and there's a nice story of how Baba saved her from measles. Mehernandini had a very high fever, and later on measles erupted. After that, Mehernandini's eyes rolled up and her eyes became fixed, which means the end. At that time Gauri as the last resort took the child and laid her down on the sofa on which Baba's photo was placed. The moment this was done, Mehernandini began playing -- absolutely normal, no fever (Gauri touched the baby and felt her temperature) -- and started playing. This was her return from a possible death. When the eyes upturn, it signals the end -- hyper pyrexia (means terribly high fever)." |
