Dear Amiya,

Your letter of 18 December 1959 has been received. Yesterday itself, Baba asked us about your health, and we told Him that you are now well. Hearing that, Baba was very, very happy. Your letter was a beautiful portrait of your inner desires. In fact, we should all have the same kind of goal. We should try our very best to fulfill Baba's wish, and that would be the greatest service to Him, and that should form the very goal of our life.

You should give special attention to your health. Keep getting treatment with whatever is necessary. In Baba's divine work, you have got a definite part to play, and Baba is already taking work from you in some form or other.

Mind is a storehouse of apprehensions, fears, anxieties, thoughts, and debates. It houses all this. The store of all these things is there for so many births, and all this store of the mind needs to be terminated. When a person comes in Baba's contact, this store, which can also be called a film, gets exposed, sometimes at a greater speed and sometimes at a slower speed, and as a result of this exposure of the film we come to know things that we were not aware of and they all come in front of us. But nothing comes from outside. All these things are already inside the mind, and now they just appear again, and when they appear they appear in order to disappear. That's why whatever circumstance you confront you take to be unavoidable, and whether it exercises any influence on you, or it doesn't, will depend on the circumstance itself.

You are really very, very fortunate. There is absolutely no doubt about it. Whenever Baba asks us anything about you, we become aware how close you are to Baba. During the last seclusion, Baba remembered you quite a number of times. For the last few months, my eyes do not have that trouble. I am thanking you for your sympathetic concept. Please convey my salutations to your mother.
