FREE Google’s URL Shortener / Short URL Free Service goo.gl

Google recently launched a short URL service called goo.gl to the public. Thus every person can use this service to shorten a link address on the internet and do a search URL that is divided by media social networking or email.

Goo.gl first appeared in December 2009 and then as an integral part of Google’s products and can be accessed by the user after registering. For now visitors do not need to register again and can directly use this service. This service alone will compete with other URL shortening services such as Bit.ly or Fb.me.
To attract users, Google claims that this service has the advantage of stability, security, and speed. Goo.gl said to have automatic spam detection features and service availability (uptime) almost 100%. This product also comes with features such as crawler URLs in Google Analytics. Goo.gl Users will be able to see the history of the URL, the source of traffic, referrals, to profile visitors by country, browser application, and platform used.

In addition to standard features, Google turned out to also provide special bonuses that QR code generator that can be used such as to create an image of QR that can be scanned as the URL in question. To make this QR code users simply add the suffix. Qr in the site address will be shortened. There also are informed through Twitter that users can add the suffix. What Makes Blekko Different?

Blekko is a full web search engine, with regular crawls of billions of web pages. But they know that they can’t beat Google at size of index, relevancy and speed right out of the gate. So they’re differentiating themselves in another way – by giving users tools to do new types of searches that they can’t do elsewhere. Microsoft Releases All New Search Engine BING.com

Bing is a new decision (search) engine from Microsoft officially announced on May 28, 2009. It combines technology from the Farecast and Powerset acquisitions, as well as new algorithms and a more colorful page design. Unlike Google, which generally returns links to mere web sites, Bing crawls listings at review services like Yelp.com and CitySearch. It then summarizes the results and displays a scorecard for each, rating things like service, drinks, food, wait time, lunch offerings, and so on, all laid out in a neat comparative table. It is the first website from Microsoft with a cleaner look and neat design and sure you will like it, like google.

WordPress 3.0 Released

WordPress 3.0 Released

The developers of WordPress, the popular open-source blogging platform, have just announced the release of their latest major version change, WordPress 3.0, which is now available for download right here. WordPress and WordPress MU have merged, allowing the management of multiple sites (called Multisite) from one WordPress installation. New default theme “Twenty Ten” takes full advantage of the current features of WordPress. New custom menu management feature, allows creation of custom menus combining posts, pages, categories, tags, and links for use in theme menus or widgets. Custom header and background APIs. Contextual help text accessed under the Help tab of every screen in the WordPress administration. Ability to set the admin username and password during installation. Bulk updating of themes with an automatic maintenance mode during the process. Support for shortlinks.

Of course, now that 3.0 is out the door, with a focus on better media support, adding versions to templates and themes and the merging of WordPress and MU, a spin-off of the main development branch.

Big-name sites spread latest malware infections

Going by such names as Gumblar, JSRedir-R, Martuz, and Beladin, a new generation of malware has managed to surreptitiously place malicious JavaScript code on tens of thousands of popular Web sites.

The hacker scripts try to infect site visitors and then attempt to use their compromised PCs to spread the infection to yet other sites.

Over the past month, the security services ScanSafe and Sophos have reported infections on such major Web sites as ColdwellBanker.com, Variety.com, and Tennis.com. Niels Provos reported in the Google security blog on June 3 that sites infected with Gumblar numbered about 60,000. Visitors became susceptible to infection simply by opening the sites in Internet Explorer.

After the script infects a PC, it attempts to spread its code to any Web site accessible via that machine’s FTP client, if one is present. Webmasters often use FTP to make changes to the sites they manage. If FTP software is configured to save a webmaster’s sign-in information, the malware can edit itself into a Web site’s pages.

Once a PC is running this class of malware, the hacker code tries to trick the user into opening infected PDF and Flash files. If the PC has an unpatched version of Adobe Reader, Acrobat, or Flash, opening an infected file can install a keylogger or other malware. In the case of Gumblar, Google search results in an Internet Explorer window are rewritten — in a way that end users may not notice — so the links point to hacker sites laden with infected PDF and Flash.

Security firms have made efforts to block domains that serve as malware destinations in this latest round of attacks. But the bad guys quickly move to substitute other domains in what has been compared to a game of Whack-a-Mole.

Meanwhile, it’s not so easy to shut down a well-known, legitimate site that’s infected (although many such sites have quickly been cleaned up). You can’t protect yourself simply by visiting only “trusted” sites, because there’s no easy way for an end user to determine whether a legitimate site is infected.

Fortunately, you can stack the odds in your favor by following the guidelines in the Windows SecretsSecurity Baseline:

Step 1: Use a hardware firewall.
Step 2: Install a set of security software.
Step 3: Scan your system regularly with a software-update service (more on these below).
Step 4: Use Mozilla’s Firefox or Google’s Chrome browser, both of which are more secure than Internet Explorer.

Meher Baba

Meher Baba was born Merwan Sheriar Irani, into a Zoroastrian family in Pune (India); just after finishing his High Schools, he became God Realized through the Divine Blessings of Hazrat Babajan a Muslim women Sadguru in 1913 at the tender age of 19 years. With this touch of Hazrat Babajan, Merwan lost normal consciousness and started experiencing the Adwaita or Divine Bliss State, a state of consciousness that caused his worldly family to worry about his divine absorption. Though they were concerned about his condition, no remedy was found. At an inward urge, Merwan traveled to the ashrams of three other great Spiritual Masters of his time: Sai Baba, Narayan Maharaj, Tajuddin Baba. Finally in 1915 he met Upasni Maharaj of Sakori.

Meher Baba as Merwan was in contact with Upasni Maharaj for seven years and under his guidance gradually regained consciousness of the world without losing his eternal God State. In the early 1920’s his followers started calling him “Meher Baba.” Dwelling with these disciples at various locations, Meher Baba and his followers settled down at a place now called Meherabad around 5 kms from Ahmednagar City in Maharastra State of India, and this small hill with some land around it became the “Ashram” of Meher Baba and his disciples.

On the 10th of July 1925 he announced that he would be observing Silence to emphasize that mere words are meaningless unless one is prepared to live one’s life according to them, and continued an unbroken Silence for 44 years until 1969 when he dropped his physical body. Meher Baba observed Silence for the rest of his life during an era of Radio and technology, when the world was facing an uncontrollable desire to talk to each other. Meher Baba in spite of his Silence was active and communicative through an Alphabet Board in earlier years and later through hand gestures language. Some of his close disciples developed a good understanding of his communication methods and instantly articulated his words to visitors. In addition books were given by him through the medium of the gestures or alphabet board, and were scrupulously edited by him, word for word, before they were sent for printing.

From 1925 to 1969 Meher Baba extensively traveled many countries around the world including America, Australia and within India working with the poor, lepers or meeting God-Intoxicated persons (known in some Indian languages as “masts”). The Words of his Divine Knowledge are available in the form of wonderful Books like God Speaks, Discourses, and some recently discovered manuscripts published as Infinite Intelligence.
